Shirley Ann Neal

Shirley Ann Neal, age 81 of Stafford, VA formerly of Branch Mountain, Moorefield, WV passed away Saturday morning, May 11, 2019 at Paramount Senior Living in Fredericksburg, VA. Born on August 8, 1937 in Omar, WV, she was a daughter of the late Floyd George Varney and Merrell Skeens Varney. Her husband David Lee Neal, Sr. preceded her in death in August 2015. An infant brother Franklin Varney and a brother, Rev. Lester Varney also preceded her in death. Shirley was retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation after 30 years as a Record’s Manager. She was a member of the Bean Settlement CEOS and was an active member in the Asbury United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Theresa A. Neal Milner of Stafford, VA and Carla S. Neal Hill of Petersburg, WV; a son, David Lee Neal, Jr. of Gibbstown, NJ; a sister, Brenda Baden of Baden, MD; two brothers, Jack Varney of Kirby, WV and C. Ray Varney of Martinsburg, WV and six grandchildren, Timothy Milner, Brandon Milner, Lacey Milner, Juleen Egan, Logan Hill and Christopher Hill.

Funeral Services will be conducted 12:00 PM Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street, with Pastor Russell Webster officiant. Interment will follow at the Asbury Cemetery, Bean Settlement, Baker, WV. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM Friday until time of services at the funeral home.
