Sloan Leroy Cleaver

Sloan Leroy Cleaver, age 73 of Raines Street, Moorefield, WV, passed away Friday evening, April 15, 2011 near Strasburg, VA as a result of a motorcycle accident. Born March 15, 1938 in Moorefield, WV, he was the son of the late John G. & Annie S. (Southerly) Cleaver. He was a US Army Veteran. He worked as a mechanic for Eastern Airlines for over 30 years and was also employed at the Moorefield DMV office before retiring. He enjoyed playing bluegrass and riding his motorcycle. Surviving are two daughters, Karen Coto (husband Jeremy) of Griffin, GA and Kimberly Burns (husband Ray) of Bremen, GA; two grandsons, Bobby & Max; three brothers, Karl V. Cleaver of Tallahassee, FL, Jesses F. Cleaver of Augusta, VA & John G. Cleaver, Jr. of Somers, CT; and a sister, Mabel C. Ours of Baker, WV. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 16, 2011 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., with Pastor Rick Bergdoll officiating. Private Inurnment will be at the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time of services.
