Thomas
Ralston
Nov 18, 1940 — Jul 12, 2026
Thomas Richard Ralston Sr, age 85 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg, WV. Born November 18, 1940, he was the son of the late Adrian Thorne Ralston, Sr and Creola Belle (Turner) Ralston. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Ralston Jr, and a brother, Adrian Thorne Ralston Jr.
Thomas spent many dedicated years working as a millwright, building and fixing the very structures that kept things moving. He approached life much like he approached his work: with precision, patience, and a constant drive to make things better. In his spare time, he could usually be found in his workshop woodworking, out at the track enjoying the thrill of racing, or tinkering with his latest project in the garage. He possessed the rare ability to fix or improve absolutely anything he put his mind to.
While he took immense pride in his craftsmanship and hobbies, Thomas's true legacy is the life and family he built. He especially loved spending time with his loved ones, cherishing every moment, milestone, and memory they created together. His infectious laugh, wise advice, and generous spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Surviving is his wife, Catherine Ralston; four daughters, Bonnie Ruff, Wanda Kacperski, Judith Bellmyer, Jennifer Tyndall; five step-children, Charles Smiley Jr., Doreen Frame, Chris Lessnor, Lori Sussan and Michael Sussan; two brothers, Russel Ralston and Douglas Ralston, and two sisters, Barbara "Cookie" Porter, and Nellie Ralston, fifteen grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Thomas's wish was to be cremated.
