Thomas Seymour Williams, “Tom”, known by some as “Shorty”, left this life to be with the Lord on July 2, 2024. While Tom will be sorely missed by his friends and family, we are confident of his ‘final address’, as he liked to say. His faith was strong; he read the Bible and worked to apply its guidance to his life daily. He was devoted to his family, always lending a helping hand whenever needed. Tom was gracious and polite, with a kind word for everyone he met.
Tom loved his family’s farm and relished tackling problems on the farm and around the house, researching solutions on YouTube, and sometimes devising a ‘jerry-rig’ as he sometimes referred to it. Taking long walks on the farm, on trails and in parks was one of Tom’s favorite activities. He loved history and visiting national parks.
Tom graduated from Radford University where he majored in Accounting. For 34 years, Tom worked in Accounting, Auditing, and Budgeting roles in the U.S. Government, primarily supporting the U.S. Navy as a civilian employee. In 2016, Tom retired from government service and then worked as a contractor supporting DoD and was currently residing in Harpers Ferry.
Born on July 2, 1959, in Petersburg, WV, he was the son of the late Felix Seymour Williams and Jewell Ward Pepper Williams. Tom is survived by his wife, Anna Anderson Williams, his son, Russell Williams, his daughter, Claire Williams, his two sisters, Cathy Williams and Elizabeth Larsen, and his niece Jessica Larsen.
Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastor Dan Howard officiant. Interment will follow in the Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of services.
Expressions of condolences, shared memories and cherished photographs may be left on Thomas’s Tribute Wall at www.fraleyfuneralhome.com honoring his remarkable journey and the impact he made in the lives of those he touched.
