Thurmond Scott Reynolds, age 83 of N. Elm St., Moorefield, WV, passed away Thursday morning, July 29, 2004 at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born June 29, 1921 near Purgitsville, WV, he was the only child of John Scott & Beatrice (Kelley) Reynolds. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy (Seamen) Reynolds. He was a veteran of the US Army of World War II of the Aleutian Island Theater, a member of the Denney-Moyers-Pratt Post #9606 V.F.W.; a 50+ year member of the John M. Golliday Post #64 American Legion and the Moorefield Lodge #29 A.F. & A.M. He was a member of the Moorefield Presbyterian Church and a past member of the Moorefield Volunteer Fire Company. He was the Owner/Operator of Reynolds Feed and Grain and was the Moorefield Store Manager for the West Virginia ABCC. Surviving is his second wife, Leona (Evans) Reynolds; a daughter, Patricia Ann Dolecki of Martinsburg, WV; twin sons, Gregory S. Reynolds of Fredericksburg, VA and Gerard T. Reynolds of Winchester, VA; a step-daughter, JoEllen Halterman of Baker, WV; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services were conducted Saturday, July 31, 2004 at the Moorefield Presbyterian Church with Pastor Katherine Jackson officiating. Interment followed with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the US Army & the Moorefield Veteran?s Honor Guard and Masonic Graveside Rites accorded by the Moorefield Lodge #29 A.F. & A.M. at the Olivet Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Moorefield Volunteer Fire Company-46, 112 Kuykendall Lane, Moorefield, WV 26836.
