Toni Gail Welton, age 71 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Monday morning, October 26, 2026 at her residence. Born on December 13, 1954, at Fort Belvoir, MD, she was the daughter of the late James Owen Ashenfelter and Flossie Victoria Zirk Ashenfelter. Toni was preceded in death by the father of her children, Aaron Sandy Welton III; two brothers, Bob Ashenfelter and Jimmy Ashenfelter; and two sisters, Sandra Collins and Polly Robertson.

Outside of work, Toni enjoyed reading and literature, and sharing that passion with the next generation. She also loved cooking, watching science fiction and fantasy movies, and sharing meaningful moments with the people she cared about most.

Above all, Toni treasured the time she spent with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Whether gathered around a meal, enjoying a good movie, or simply sharing conversation and laughter, these moments were among the things that made life special to her.

Toni's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for the moments shared, the memories made, and the lasting place she holds in the lives of those she leaves behind.

Surviving is a son, Aaron A. (Ashley) Welton, IV; four daughters, Jessica Welton (Steven Bogdan), Lesley (Delmas) See, Sarah Taylor, & Amy Welton (Jordan Pratt) of Moorefield, WV; a brother John (Patty) Ashenfelter; and 10 grandchildren.

To celebrate the beautiful life she lived, a Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, located at 107 Washington Street. The family will welcome friends starting at 1:00 PM, until the time of the service, inviting everyone to share in the laughter, stories, and fond memories of Toni.
