Woodrow Douglas Kimble

Woodrow Douglas “Doug” Kimble, age 77 of Bass Lane, Moorefield, WV, passed away Monday morning, November 30, 2020 at his residence. Born on December 17, 1942 in Upper Tract, WV, he was a son of the late Stanley Cecil Kimble and Mary Alice “Molly” Ratcliff Kimble. Brothers, Kermit “Jake” Mowery, James Bruce Mowery, sisters, Doris J. Alt, Pearl M. Kimble; sisters-in-law, Phyllis R. Mowery and Betty N. Mowery also preceded him in death.

Doug was a U.S. Army veteran, 101^st Airborne Division; a Life Member of American Legion Post #78; a Life member of the NRA; a member of the Cross Knob Hunting Club and Little Mountain Hunting Club. He was the longtime owner of Doug’s Sport Shop in Moorefield.

Surviving is a son, William Douglas “Bill” (Becky) Kimble of Moorefield, WV; a daughter, Robin Denise Kimble of Moorefield, WV; two grandchildren, William Drake Kimble and Grace Marie Kimble; a brother, Paul (Mernie) Kimble of Dorcas, WV; the mother of his children, Betty Kimble; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic, Private Family Graveside Services will be held at Cherry Hill Cemetery in Upper Tract, WV with Pastor Chris Whetzel officiant.
